SEXUALITY/GOOD WRITING

Among all the sexually explicit trash in cyberspace, a few sites stand out for their superb presentation of thought-provoking writing about sex, and/or fine erotic writing.

www.cleansheets.com
Clean Sheets Magazine is a free, all-volunteer website which posts a fresh selection of fiction, articles, reviews and poetry every week and boasts some of the largest archives of quality erotica on the Web.

www.susiebright.com
While you're out visiting, check out sex maven Susie Bright's site to see what that mischievous socio/sexual commentator is up to.

www.carolqueen.com
And stop in on Carol Queen too, and her latest San Francisco bay area community project, The Center for Sex & Culture, at www.centerforsexandculture.com

www.davidsteinberg.us
Then there are the writings (essays, reviews, thought pieces and books) of my good friend David Steinberg. David, editor and publisher of Erotic By Nature and editor of The Erotic Impulse and the Photo Sex: Fine Art Sexual Photography Come of Age, writes a regular column and e-mail newsletter titled Comes Naturally. More than a hundred of these essays are archived here. To receive his essays monthly by email, address him at eronat@aol.com; ask him to add you to his list. David's fine sexual photography can be seen at his website too. www.davidsteinberg.us (I think)

www.sexuality.org/authors/morin/
Check out Jack Morin, author of Anal Pleasure and Health, writing eloquently and expertly on the subject of anal sexuality. Jack's unfortunately less well known book The Erotic Mind is arguably one of the two or three most important books about sex written in the past three decades.

Between Powell's Book, Amazon.com and alibris.com, you can find nearly every new and used title related to sexuality and erotica ever printed.

WHERE TO BUY SEX TOYS (Books & Videos Too)

www.goodvibes.com
Good Vibrations and my daughter Amika were born in the same year (1977) and both of them are now grownups. GV has two retail stores in San Francisco, one in Berkeley and one in Brookline, MA with several more stores around the country planned in the coming years. The stores and GoodVibes.com are great places to learn about and purchase a wide variety of sex toys, other sexual accoutrements and erotic and sexual enhancement books and videos. The website also has fun, free online magazine to which you can subscribe.

www.babeland.com
Their tagline says "Sex Toys for a Passionate World." I like that. Babeland is the closest thing to a sister company that Good Vibrations has. Their original store in Seattle was modeled on Good Vibrations. That one lives on and they operate three other stores in New York City.

www.blowfish.com
Blowfish is a great website, with sales, information and free shipping for a wide variety of sex-related products including books.

www.a-womans-touch.com
A Woman's Touch is a GV-style store and website based in Madison, Wisconsin. They've done a better job of keeping my books available to the public than almost anyone else.

SEXUALITY/OTHER LINKS

The Antique Vibrator Museum. Photographs, descriptions, and historical perspectives on several of my large collection of antique and just-plain-old vibrators appear in the Vibrator Museum on the Good Vibrations web site. Enjoy this box cover from one of my favorite oldies.

Photography of Jan Saudek: Only tangentially related to my interests in sexuality, I'm eager to share with you that I'm the proud owner of 15 original hand-colored photographs by the well-known Czech photographer Jan Saudek. I'm hoping that this will catch the eye of another Saudek fan or two who'd enjoy corresponding with me about Mr. Saudek and his work. Those not familiar with Saudek's evocative, sometimes amusing, and often erotic photographs would do well to visit his wonderful website http://www.saudek.com/index.php which now has over 450 of his photographs taken from the early fifties to the present.

www.stilldoingit.com
This is the home of the wonderful film Still Doing It: The Intimate Lives of Women Over Sixty, directed by Deirdre Fishel. It happens to have the same name as my book, but the two are completely independent projects.

www.goodvibes.com
Down There Press
Good Vibrations' Down There Press was a pioneer in publishing both sexual self-help books and women's erotica. Down There Press was sold to another company in 2007. That company will be reissuing only three or four of the 23 titles in print at the time of the transfer of ownership. None of the nine books I authored or edited are included. See My Books (and Videos) for further information on the fate of and future prospects for, my books.

www.intimatearttattoo.com  (formerly titattoo.com)
With friend Scott Cooper, I created Titattoos, temporary tattoos designed to be worn on the breast. You can see all the designs and order them here.
